JOHOR BARU: The Education Ministry plans to re-train about 65,000 English language teachers for the future in an effort to strengthen its usage among students.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said for this year a total of 20,000 teachers will be re-trained for this purpose.
"This re-training of English is in-line with the Malaysian Education Development Plan 2013 - 2015," he said.
Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, said this at the Sekolah Tun Fatimah's Academic Excellence Awards ceremony here today.
